October 22nd in Gennett History, 1929: The Westbrook Conservatory Entertainers recorded “Silent Night” in NYC. The recording appeared on Paramount 3197 and Broadway 8228. It featured vocalist John Westbrook (Walter). The Gennett Ledger noted, “Made for New York Recording Lab, Pt. Washington, Wis., title is ‘Silent Night Holy Night.’”
