September 14 in Gennett History…

1921: Degli Arditi Orchestra recorded “Diamond Waltzer” in NYC.  It appeared on Gennett I-4786, Gennett S-5384, and Connorized 123.  The recording ledger lists the artist as the ‘Italian Big Five.’

1923: Bob Royce’s Ohio State Collegians recorded “There’s Not Another Girlie” in Richmond. Unfortunately, it and another recording the made that day have not turned up anywhere.

1924: Josie Miles recorded “Kansas City Man Blues” in NYC. It appeared on Gennett 5261 and featured Miles (vox) and Stanley Miller (pn).
