July 28 in Gennett History…

1927: Joe Evans recorded “Little Son of a Gun (Look What You Done)” in Birmingham.  It appeared on Gennett 6259 and featured Joe Evans (v and prob also kazoo and g) and Arthur McClaine (g & kazoo). 

1928: Lou Weimer’s Gold and Black Aces recorded “The Merry Widow’s Got a Sweetheart Now” in Richmond.  It appeared on Gennett 6540 and sadly, the musicians are unknown.
