June 18 in Gennett History…

1925: Bailey’s Lucky Seven recorded “If I Had A Girl Like You” in NYC. It appeared on Gennett 3093. The recording featured Red Nichols (?) and Hymie Farbman (c), Miff Mole (tb), Dick Johnson and Bobby Davis (sax/cl). 

1928: Carl Fenton’s New Yorkers recorded “Dusky Stevedar” in NYC.  It appeared on Gennett 6506, Champion 15533 (920 copies sold), and Supertone 9042 and featured Carl Mathieu (v).
