May 4 in Gennett History…

1923: Viola McCoy and Bob Rickett’s Band recorded “Gulf Coast Blues” in NYC.  It appeared on Gennett 5151 and featured McCoy (v) and Ricketts (pn). 

1928: Allison’s Sacred Harp Singers recorded “Sweet Morning” in Richmond. It appeared on Gennett 6606.
