January 6 in Gennett History…

1924: The New York Philharmonic under the direction of Henry Hadley recorded “Suite: The Way of a Boy, Part IV” in NYC.  It appeared on Gennett 2706 and Ginn G-23-A.

1925: Oliver Naylor’s Seven Aces recorded “Bye Bye Baby” in NYC. It appeared on Gennett 5643, Starr-Gennett 9615, and Claxtonola 40419. The track featured Edward ‘Pinky’ Gerbrecht (c), Charles Hartman (tb), Newton Richardson (sax), Bill Creger (cl), Oliver Naylor (p), Mr. White (bs), Jules Bauduc (bjo), and Louis Darrough (d).
