February 28th in Gennett History, 1928: Lou Calabrese and His Hot Shots recorded “Lipstick” and “Let’s Misbehave” in NYC. The recordings appeared on Gennett 6421, Angelus 3032, and Superior 363. “Let’s Misbehave” also appeared on Champion 15468. This 1928 Movietone newsreel shows Calabrese’s virtuosic banjo playing.
