Vernon Dalhart Gennett Walk of Fame Medallion
September 1st in Gennett History, 1926: Vernon Dalhart recorded “There’s A New Star in Heaven Tonight (Rudolph Valentino)” in NYC. It appeared on Champion 15139, Challenge 188, Gennett 3370, and Herwin 75526. The Champion issue sold 3,094 copies between 1926 and 1928. While Dalhart recorded this one in 1926, I do not know if this recording came from the Gennett sessions.
