September 6th in Gennett History, 1929: The Carver Boys recorded “The Brave Engineer” in Richmond.” It appeared on Paramount 3198, Broadway 8246, and ARC-Broadway 8246. The Gennett recording ledger noted on another Carver Boys recordings that day that “credited to Carver Boys and Joshua White – Carver Boys were a white ‘old time’ group – Race Series.” The track featured Noble ‘Uncle Bozo’ Carver (v & g), Robert Carver (v & g), and Warner Carver (bjo).
