Happy 28th Birthday, Jimmy Dorsey! (2/29/1904). Dorsey was a leap year baby, so really its Feb 29th. Dorsey recorded alto sax on “One Night in Havana” with Hoagy Carmichael on 10/28/127 in Richmond. It appeared on Gennett 6311, Gentry 4011, and Champion 15420. The Champion release sold 700 copies in 1928.
