February 9th in Gennett History, 1941: James David Vaughan passed away. Vaughan is considered one of the founders of “Southern Gospel” and he had a pressing and recording relationship with Gennett and his Vaughan (as well as some of the KKK recordings). The Vaughan Quartet recorded “It’s Just Like Heaven” on 12/4/1929 in Richmond. It appeared on Vaughan 1725. Mrs. Carl Goble accompanies the quartet on piano.
