September 22nd in Gennett History, 1932: Mary Johnson recorded “Rattlesnake Blues” in Richmond. The recording appeared on Champion 16570 and Champion 50062. It featured Mary Johnson (vox) and Roosevelt Sykes (p). The 16570 issue sold 108 copies between 1932 and 1933.
