June 23rd in Gennett History, 1928: The Boys from Wildcat Hollow recorded “Fiddlin’ Bootlegers, Part 1 and 2” in Richmond. The recordings appeared on Champion 15633, Champion 45010, Gennett 6585, and Supertone 9177. The band (Monroe County Bottle Tippers) featured Claude Davis (v & g), Lowe Stokes (v & f) and Bert Layne (v).
