June 20th in Gennett History, 1927: Sam Ku, Jr. recorded “Farewell Blues” in NYC. It appeared on Gennett 6190 and Champion 15337. The Champion issue sold 2,043 copies in 1927 and 1928 (and 2 copies in 1929) and the performers royalties were sent to Irene West.
