April 9th in Gennett History, 1930: Cliff Carlisle recorded “Desert Blues” in Richmond. It appeared on Gennett 7187, Champion 15992, Champion 45155, Supertone 9710 (as Amos Greene), and Decca 5531. The Champion 15992 issue sold approx. 7,500 copies between 1930 and 1932.
