April 3rd in Gennett History, 1927: Daddy Moon Hayes and His Boys recorded “France Blues” in Chicago. It appeared on Gennett 6106 (as Sunny Boy and His Pals) and Black Patti 8001 (as Long ‘Cleve’ Reed and Little Harvey Hull (The Down Home Boys)). The known musicians were Long ‘Cleve’ Reed and Little Harvey Hull (vox), Long ‘Cleve’ Reed and Sunny Wilson (guitar).
