Taking another shot at playing some good music on my Starr portable Phonograph.  This time it’s Champion 45175 – A by Asa Martin performing “Dying Girl’s Message.”  It was recorded on 8/24/1928 in Richmond with Martin (v & g), & Fiddlin Doc Roberts (Mandolin).  Gennett also released it on Champion 15611 (sold ~1700 copies), Gennett 6621, Melotone 45175, Minerva M-14038, and Supertone 9179.  The issue in the video sold 135 copies for the period ending 9/30/1936 according to Decca.
