Artie Shaw Gennett Walk of Fame Medallion
Every now and then as I am working on the Gennett Discography, I find something super interesting. It is known that Artie Shaw made his first recording at Gennett with Joe Cantor and His Orchestra, but it went unissued and lost to the ages. Was finally digging through the recording cards at the Indiana Historical Society and it appears Shaw did more than play clarinet, he also made an appearance on one of the tracks as a vocalist. Wish these sessions would find the light of day.
