Dec. 16th in Gennett History, 1930: Lou Gold and His Orchestra recorded “I’ll Sing a Love Song” in NYC. It appeared on Superior 2565 (as Max Gilmore And His Boys) and Champion 16175 (as Ted Riley and His Orchestra). It featured Paul Small (vocals) and perhaps Tommy Dorsey on trombone. The Champion side sold 255 copies in 1931.
