Uncle Dave Macon Gennett Walk of Fame Medallion Happy 144th Birthday, Uncle Dave Macon! He was born on October 7, 1870. The Gennett Walk of Fame Inductee with Sam and Kirk McGhee recorded “Don’t Get Weary Children” on 8/15/1934 in Richmond. It appeared on Champion S – 16822 and 45048, Decca 5369, and Montgomery Ward 8029.
