Sept. 8th in Gennett History, 1922: Ernest Hare recorded “Coal Black Mammy” in NYC. The recording appeared on Ge. 4945 & S-G 584. The session’s recording card reflected Gennett’s desire to get this recording released as it noted “Rush, Rush, Rush.”
