43 Years Ago Today in Gennett History, Louis Armstrong passed away (7/6/1971). He made his first recordings with the King Oliver’s Creole Jazz Band from Chicago in the Richmond studio. Here is the complete recording output from the April 5th and 6th, 1923 sessions. A real historically significant moment in American music history!
