June 9th in Gennett History, 1921: octo-chorda innovator Sam Moore recorded “Laughing Rag” in NYC. It appeared on Gennett 4747 and Starr-Gennett 9146 with Frank Banta on piano. This was the first recording Moore did this year of “Laughing Rag.” His most successful version appeared on Victor 18849.
