April 8th in Gennett History, 1924: The Vaughan Quartet recorded “Wake Up America Kluck Kluck Kluck” in Richmond. This KKK anthem appeared on Vaughan 825 – A and featured Theodore Shaw on piano. The recording card for this session (K-11) stated “Recording Card Note: “Special K.K.K. Label (Charge to Vaughan)”
