April 5th in Gennett History, 1983: Cliff Carlisle passed away. He recorded three dozen sides at Gennett including “Hobo Blues” with Wilbur Ball (gtr) on 9/22/1930. It appeared on Ch 16140 & 45179, De 5379, Spt 9772, & Melotone 45179. Champion 16140 sold approx. 2,500 copies between 1930 and 1932.
