Feb. 9th in Gennett History, 1941: James David Vaughan passed away. Vaughan is considered one of the founders of “Southern Gospel” and he had a long term pressing and recording relationship with Gennett and his Vaughan and Rainbow labels (as well as some of the KKK recordings). The Vaughan Quartet recorded “It’s Just Like Heaven” on 12/4/1929 in Richmond. It appeared on Vaughan 1725. Mrs. Carl Goble accompanies the quartet on piano.
